Letters, photographs, maps, manuscripts, and other material gathered by Katherine Molinoff for research and publication of several articles and monographs on Walt Whitman, particularly on his career as a teacher in Smithtown and elsewhere on Long Island; includes Molinoff's bound master's thesis, "Walt Whitman and the Smithtown Debating Society," submitted to New York University, 1939. Typescript reminiscences, "Smithtown in the Thirties and Forties," and letters, notes, and clippings regarding Smithtown residents, particularly World War II veterans. Also, photographs and generalogical materials of the Molinoff and Rochmis families.
